Study of the Month
A study published in the February 2000 issue of The Journal of Manipulative Physiological Therapeutics found chiropractic care to be an effective treatment option for migraine headaches.
- 127 volunteers between the ages of 10 and 70 years were recruited for the study.
- The diagnosis of migraine was made on the basis of the International Headache Society standard, with a minimum of at least one migraine per month.
- 22% of participants reported more than a 90% reduction of migraines as a consequence of the 2 months of chiropractic therapies.
- Approximately 50% more participants reported significant improvement in the frequency and severity of each episode.
- 72% of participants overall reported a positive response to chiropractic therapies for their migraines.
